This adorable Spanish bungalow already had a permitted separate unit above the detached garage (this would never be allowed today!)  All we had to do was bring out the original charm and make this cutie livable.  The original wood windows were all rotted and had to be replaced, along with 100% of the finishes.  The long hallway and tiny dark rooms were reconfigured to allow a light filled kitchen and dining space and bigger living room, as well and an addition on the rear to accommodate a master suite.  The crumbling two-story rear structure was almost completely replaced piece by piece to revive the two-car garage, a working studio behind it, and a separate unit above it.  

It was really hard not to move into this one myself.
